Hi! I'm Tracey Schröeder (pronounced Shray-der) and I am an audio engineer, record producer and mixer, and this is my studio. I have been working in sound of some kind for over thirty years. I've done many different "audio" jobs, from Corporate TV to Sound Design, Voice-Over to Post-Production, even (currently) making sound for Model Trains. But MUSIC is what I really do, and that's where it started for me! Any kind of music! I worked at Reflection Studios in Charlotte for about 12 years. We did everything from gospel to metal, local bands to major label artists. ALL of it was a blastl!
I worked with numerous local bands throughout my time at Reflection and beyond, and that's what I continue to do. My most recent work includes mixes for synth-pop duo Bed Signs' newest record, mixing the latest gogoPilot record, an EP and Full-Length for Tech/Death/Metal band Kairos, tracking a Full-Length Album for singer-songwriter Mark Cline Bates with Don Dixon producing, and TWO records with Gastonia's The Menders. Radically different styles but all totally rockin'!! Go to the LISTEN page and well, have a listen!!!
I worked for Bank of America for 14 years as the audio engineer for their internal corporate communications team, essentially live TV. I had 2 Solid State Logic digital broadcast consoles that were just kik-ass! We would broadcast (internally) live shows with feeds from multiple cities around the world along with live phone Q&A. It got pretty technical, but challenging.
I now work for Lionel Trains creating audio to go into their model trains. The high-end models are crazy complicated! There are whistles & horns, bells, chuffs & motors at different speeds, creaks & groans and action-specific dialog. Yet another challenge for me!
My studio is at home (thus the name, thanks Deb!), so recording a band here is not really feasable. I can, have, will & do, record various overdubs in my studio, and I recorded a number of songs for an acoustic singer/songwriter dude live.
What I typically like to do is record at a couple of studios here in Charlotte, then bring the tracks home for mixing. I have a couple of favorite places that we can discuss in more detail when we discuss your project. But we can also record at any studio you may prefer, or if you have recorded the tracks yourself, I will be happy to work with you to get the tracks to me for mixing.
